The Bridge 橋

The Bridge is a new music project taking place in Taipei City, between English musician Ben Cooke (Tenor Saxophone, electronics) and French Musician Etmo (Soprano & Tenor Saxophone, Clarinet, ethnics instruments and electronics).

Ben Cooke and Etmo met one year ago in late 2010, out of the blue in the area of Minsheng East road in Taipei city. Ben is originally from London , Etmo is from South of France but has been living the past 11 years in London . Both musician are sharing a lot of music influences together and are use to improvise and compose in an electronic and jazz field. Ben Cooke has been touring many years with different electronica bands and produces his own instrumental hip-hop tracks. Etmo has been composing and performing his own electro-jazz music for the past 8 years.

Etmo has participated to different music projects in London, based on improvisation. The new album Etmo meets Osk
“Silver Liquid” with Spanish electronic musician Osk aka Oskar Vizan is available now on the London record label Fotone.
It’s all about creating melodies and moods on the spots, and being able to tell stories together in real time.

Ben Cooke and Etmo started to play and improvise with their saxophones together under a Bridge by the river in Taipei City . They recorded some night sessions there. The result was really convincing, they decided to develop further their exploration by adding some live electronics elements to the music, and have invited Angelo Noziglia on drums to join the Bridge.

They will be performing live on Friday 18 of November at PIPE live music at 9.30pm.
